The Dirt Difference

Why no alcohol?

Alcohol is the main active ingredient in most water based mouthwashes. While it does kill germs it also kills beneficial flora and fauna in the mouth, you can think of it like taking antibiotics. Some times we may find ourselves in extraordinary circumstances where we do need antibiotics but as we all know we should not take them every day because they kill our digestive 'germs' leaving us with a whole host of unintended problems.

Alcohol is also irritating to the skin of the mouth and frequent use can lead to mouth lesions and sores, the opposite of what we want.

Our oil pulling mouthwash uses essential oils to kill harmful bacteria while leaving your friendly fauna to thrive. The swishing action of the oil helps to dislodge gunk as well as bringing blood flow and essential nutrients to the mouth.

How do I use it?

Our oil pulling mouthwash is easy to use!

✦ Fill the bottle cap with pulling oil.

✦ Swish between teeth for desired time.

✦ Spit into toilet or trash when finished.

✦ Can be used before or after brushing!

Can I swallow it?

Yes, but we do not recommend swallowing after rinsing because it is not beneficial to swallow plaque, tartar and bacteria. Also ingesting a large about of oil can lead to 'digestive distress' if you get what we're saying.

How long will it last?

Our 8oz bottle has about 70 servings.

Our 4oz bottle has about 30 servings.

Does it foam?

Our oil pull does not foam.

Foaming is not necessary in order to clean teeth.

In fact foaming is just a marketing trick used by corporations to make you feel like their product is working. In order to make something foam, surfactants or other 'foaming agents' must be added.

We only use effective natural ingredients, we never add any filler ingredients like foaming agents.

Is it ok for sensitive teeth / kids / crowns / dentures etc?

Our oil pull is wonderful for sensitive teeth, kids, crowns and more. It can be used in any place normal mouthwash would.

Can I spit it in the sink?

We do not recommend spitting the oil into the sink. When oils become cold they can coat pipes and over time lead to clogs, especially in old pipes and in cold regions. We recommend spitting the oil into your toilet or a trash can.

Is it gluten-free?

How to use & sizes

Oil Pulling

3-5 times a week, swish a cap full for 5-20 minutes as the oils of sesame and coconut will coax a host of terrible toxins from your teeth and gums, all while you savor sea buckthorn and Essential Oils. While our blend is safe to swallow, we recommend spitting the oil out into the toilet after pulling, since it'll be full of all the bacteria and junk you're trying to get rid of.

Mouthwash

Any time you need a freshen-up, swiftly swish a capful for 1-3 minutes and the oils of clove, mint, and peppermint will leave your mouth as clean as a whistle, and breath so fancy and fresh. We recommend spitting your used oil out in the toilet, some sink plumbing can be sensitive to oils.
