Why Clove Oil?

If you have taken the time to read our ingredients you would have noticed clove oil, but why? 

Clove oil holds great importance in East Asia for its many health benefits used in Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese medicine. Known for its high antimicrobial,  anti-fungal, antiseptic, antiviral, and stimulating properties it has been used for many ailments. It is used as an antiseptic and pain reliever for toothaches and mouth healing. 

Even with many medical advances in dentistry clove is still admired for its ability to relieve these pains. But what makes it so effective for toothaches and gum pain?

Studies have confirmed that one of the main active ingredients in clove is benzocaine, the same stuff they use to numb you at the dentist office before inserting a needle. A study also tested the difference between using benzocaine and clove oil and found they both provided similar amounts of relief compared to the placebo gel. These findings may lead to the replacement of benzocaine with the natural clove oil.
